This class is designed as an advanced pistol shooting class for those who wish to hone their shooting skills for their concealed carry. This class teaches you how to shoot your handgun in a self defense situation. It is restricted to people who have a conceal carry permit or have applied for their conceal carry permit. The class is approximately 4 hours in length. We will go over some basic pistol shooting techniques in the classroom, then we proceed to the range for about 3 hours of shooting. You can expect to shoot 200 rounds of ammo while on the range.
All students will need their own firearm, at least two magazines or speed loaders, a holster, eye and ear protection and the necessary amount of ammo. No single action revolvers are allowed. Minimum caliber for the semi-auto is .380 and for the revolver is .38 Special.
Shooting techniques learned in this class will include shooting from cover, shooting while moving, shooting multiple targets and shooting while retreating. You will be put into shooting situations where you will have to do quick reloads and engage multiple targets multiple times. You will be doing point shooting, speed shooting and one hand shooting. Some of the shooting done in the class will be the same that law enforcement is required to go through every year. Much of the shooting is the type of shooting an indoor range cannot let you do.
